Introduction
HealthMark includes enhanced search and data consolidation capabilities designed to make it easier to find, identify, and assess companies. These enhancements are supported by the Master Company Index, the underlying architecture that organizes millions of companies available within HealthMark.
From a HealthMark perspective, the Master Company Index establishes clear rules for how companies are represented. A Domestic Legal Entity:
Is the primary Company location within a Country?
Should have a single primary industry.
Can have many branches and or subsidiaries/children.
Search
You can enter a company name and, if known, an address or country. Search results are more streamlined because branch locations are rolled up to the company headquarters. When an exact match is found, only a single result is displayed, reducing duplicate or overlapping entries.
Consolidated HealthMarks
Data across a company hierarchy is consolidated to produce the most accurate HealthMark for each Domestic Legal Entity. This HealthMark is applied consistently across all branch locations of the master company.
Subsidiaries that are separate legal entities are evaluated independently and maintain their own HealthMarks.
Location Filter
When the Location filter is applied, search results return at least one match per country. If no location is selected, results may include one match per country where the company operates.
This ensures consistent and predictable results when filtering by geography.
One result is returned for The Gap in the United States:
One result per country is returned for The Gap when no location is chosen:
There will be times when the Location filter chosen in the search criteria corresponds to a branch rather than a headquarters location. In cases where the selected location aligns with a branch, both the Headquarters Location and Branch Location fields will be populated.
Search results display the strongest available match based on the entered criteria. For best results, especially when searching for U.S. companies, it is recommended to include city, state, and country information. When multiple locations exist within the same city, the location supported by the strongest data is shown.
Widen Your Search
Exact matches are returned first whenever possible. If no exact match is found, you can expand the results by selecting the "Click here to widen the search results" link. This enables a fuzzy search and increases the number of potential matches displayed.
Widening the search is useful when company names, locations, or identifiers vary slightly from the entered criteria.
By widening the search, you get the following results:
